Mother of Peace Illovo in Crisis
The current political/financial turmoil in South Africa has resulted in a lack of government support. Expected private donations and other sources of funding have also not materialised. We are urgently appealing for financial assistance. Our organisation is unable to cover the day-to-day costs necessary for the 70 children placed in our care. Our monthly running costs amount to approximately R200,000 and we need R100,000 to meet our current financial obligations. At present, we do not have enough money to cover the full salaries for our house mothers, drivers, kitchen staff, social worker, and other staff.
At Mother of Peace Illovo, we provide our children with a family environment. Six children are placed into the care of one house mother who looks after the children as her own.
