We also invest the money we raise in sustainable projects that create a more holistic environment for our children to thrive in. Our team works hard to ensure that every cent is invested responsibly.
Early Childhood Development
In January 2013, we opened Mother of Peace Primary School, a registered school for Grade R to 3. Class sizes are small to ensure that special attention is paid to each child and vocational skills like baking and sewing are taught. We also offer a class for special needs children .
Poultry Rearing
As a source of produce and income, day old broiler chickens are purchased and reared for sale. This project has been running since 2008 and has strengthened our ties with the surrounding communities we supply to. It has also allowed us to train two full-time staff with the skills needed to begin their own farming businesses in the future .
Vegetable Gardens
Our gardens produce carrots, spinach, broccoli, cauliflower, lettuce, onions and beetroot. Our tomatoes are grown in vegetable tunnels and earth boxes. We consume our own produce and supply to our day care. Any excess is sold to local outlets.
Skills Development
We work to empower our staff through skills upgrading i.e. first aid, parenting skills etc.
