Make a difference in a child’s life by joining our Sponsor-A-Child program.
There are as many orphans in South Africa as there are people in Los Angeles, California – 3.85 million. Over a quarter of these orphaned or abandoned children live in KwaZulu-Natal, with no one to care for them. Communities are not able to cope with the high numbers and government welfare organisations are buckling under the pressure.
This is the reason Mother of Peace Illovo was started. We do what we can to take in vulnerable children and provide them with loving family homes and access to education to nurture them into responsible members of society.
How can you help?
We rely heavily on individual donations to provide for the 70 children under our care. You can help by sponsoring a child or a family. Our Sponsor A Child program is a monthly donation scheme that goes towards maintaining a safe and clean family environment, access to education and provision of medicine since a number of our children are HIV positive.
The average cost per child is R1,500/month, however, we accept donations of any amount. All forms of consistent contributions go a long way in helping us to provide for our children.
What next?
1. Complete the form below.
2. You will receive an email within 3 working days with information about the children that need sponsorships.
3. Once you have selected a child, you can start making a donation directly into our bank accounts or preferably use the donation buttons below. Please send a mail to gavin@motherofpeace.org.za when you make a donation.
4. You will then receive quarterly updates about how your sponsored child is doing! We encourage you to write letters to your child as well to build a relationship and make him or her feel special.
